Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The exhibit collections represents the main work of the student in the year, in which they are to demonstrate their artistic skills acquired during study. The exhibit collection is the main part of the summary exam, the subject of the summary exam and is evaluated by a instructors' commission.

2nd year study students request an advising from any of the Photography Dept. instructors.

Mode of study:

Preparation of an exhibition collection in consultations with the lead instructor of th exhibit collection (consultations with others is possible except for the exhibit collection testing instructor).

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Grading:

Credit is awarded at the end of the Winter semester for the explication and, potentially development.

Graded credit is awarded at the summary exam and graded by a commission comprised of dept. instructors.

The condition for grading is the timely submission of all photos in digital form in TIFF format in 300dpi resolution on a 250mm page.

Course contents:

The student completes an explication of the collection which is submitted to a selected instructor. Upon agreement of the instructor for advisin the exhibit collection the student is required to report the name of their advisor and topic to the Photography Dept. secretary at the latest by the end of the Winter semester.

The exhibit collection is the result of systematic work on a chosen topic in the Summer semester with a minimum of 2 obligatory consultations in the development stage.

Tasks:

Winter semester:

Completion of an explication of the collection submitted to a selected instructor as the basis for consultation.

Summer semester:

Systematic work on the exhibit collection with an obligatory minimum of 2 consultations in the development stage.

The exhibit collection is understood as a collection of a minimum of 8 photos which create a compact whole. The number of photos may be fewer in justified cases, if warranted by the character of the work or demands of the project.
