Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Introduction of the students to the history, development, current trends and particulars of puppet animation.

Mode of study:

Lectures with screenings of samples, analyses and discussions.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

No prerequisites.

Course contents:

Second year (Winter semester) course covering animated film direction issues with 2D, Plasticine, semi-plastic puppets, classic puppets and pixellization including the influence the development of technology. Part of the course covers combinations of those technologies in mutual respects as well as using animated film or feature film technologies.

Recommended or required reading:

Film studies, schools and independent creators working in puppet animation and its combinations.

Assessment methods and criteria:

Credit is awarded based on completing 75% of the lectures.
