The main materials are the coursebooks Česky krok za krokem 2 and Čeština pro cizince - úroveň B1. These coursebooks are supplemented with other materials. Particular emphasis is placed on topics connected to culture and Czech life.

The exam has both written and oral parts. The written test (60min.) contains reading comprehension, listening, grammar and vocabulary sections. The oral section is comprised of a translation, analysis or possibly reproduction of a study text of approx. 10 pps, which the student prepares prior to the exam after consultation with the instructor. A conversation on study project themes follows.

If the student is not able to attend instruction because of extenuating circumstances (internship, competitions, serious health issues), the student is required to contact the course instructor, obtain materials and arrange consultation hours. Otherwise, the student will not be awarded credit nor permitted to sit the exam.
Only exams taken at CJP in the last three years will be recognized. Exams taken at other institutions of higher education and other certificates do no release students from exam obligations.
