- Field of study characterization
-
The Master?s programme is conceived as an artistic programme intended primarily for graduates of the Bachelor?s programme in Sound Production at HAMU, and also for graduates of programmes at FAMU or for other candidates at a comparable academic level, e.g. graduates of the programme in audio frequency technology at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague. The goal is to expand theoretical knowledge in the area of music, aesthetics, sound technology and musical and psychological acoustics. The study plan also aims to deepen professional skills acquired during the Bachelor?s programme in Sound Production at HAMU with an accent on developing the student?s professional focus in the area of autonomous sound production.
- Key learning outcomes:
-
Students who have already mastered the fundamentals of technical and artistic work with sound, know how to work with modern recording technology and possess musical knowledge at the required level devote themselves to further expanding their theoretical knowledge and to serious practical projects in the area of autonomous sound production, but in particular to classical and jazz recordings and to realising electroacoustic music and sound post-production in music. Space is also left for projects involving radio plays, sound collages, stage sound, etc. Emphasis is placed on students? own projects in accordance with their future practice.
- Occupational profiles of graduates with examples:
-
Graduates of the Master?s programme in Sound Production at HAMU are artistic-technical personalities capable of independent creative work with sound as a means of musical aesthetic communication. They must know how to connect rational understanding and mastery of the latest technical means and methods with an aesthetic quality and individual creativity, and how to connect the psychophysiology of aural perception with the current aesthetic and ethical norms of sound communication ? in particular in recordings of the most serious works of classical music and jazz, in realising electroacoustic music projects and in independent generally creative work with sound in the area of autonomous sound production. Graduates can apply their skills as sound-masters in professional recording and music post-production studios of all types, in radio in the area of music or the spoken word, cultural organisations with a requirement of professional work with sound, or as stage sound-masters, pedagogues at secondary schools (instruction in practical subjects for creative work with sound) or at primary arts schools (in the fields of Electronic Music Processing and Sound Production).
