- Field of study characterization
-
The two-year Master?s programme is conceived as selective studies focused on the student?s individual professional growth, and trains producers and media experts. The programme provides professional growth in two key areas of the audio-visual environment ? it prepares creative film and television producers who are able to seek out projects independently, evaluate their potential, work with the creative team and successfully complete the planned project. A second current is focused on training experts in the areas of distribution, film marketing, dramaturgy and conception of media organisations and institutions, etc.
Creative producers and media managers are an important component of the film industry?s successful and dynamic development in a given country. The two currents complement each other and play a significant role in shaping the audio-visual space. The programme?s goal is to train a new creative generation of producers and film/media professionals capable of shaping the valuable media/audio-visual environment in the Czech Republic, of forming and directing this new environment to achieve the optimal situation, and of helping Czech cinematography to develop further and to reinforce public awareness of it at home and abroad.
In addition to providing specialist knowledge in the field, the Production Department should provide students with space for developing their own personal style and support them in the process of discovering and reinforcing their own creativity and individuality as producers. Theoretical knowledge, which is absolutely fundamental and important for all areas of production, dramaturgy, organisation and management of the media, is supplemented by a great number of practical tasks.
- Key learning outcomes:
