Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The Double Bassoon is greatly used as a solo and orchestral instrument and today in other music genres. Considering that there may be great differences in students playing the Double Bassoon an individual instruction path is chosen. Study literature is assigned according to student abilities. Etudes and recital pieces largely from the Bassoon literature. Recital pieces are oriented towards easier compositions for this instrument. The view of why the student wants to play the Double Basson is definitive for the method. Double Bassoon reed adjustment is taught. These reeds are in their structure similar to Bassoon reeds but their adjustment has its own specific rules.

Mode of study:

On-going participation of students in auditions for symphonic and opera orchestras.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Instrument skills corresponding to the student study year and profile.

Course contents:

The Double Bassoon is an instrument of many music ensembles. This instrument is greatly used as a solo and orchestral instrument and today in other music genres. This course gradually provides the student with all skills and knowledge needed for playing the Double Bassoon. Students are divided according to their abilities. They are introduced to proper Double Bassoon playing. Considering that there may be great differences in students playing the Double Bassoon an individual instruction path is chosen. Sudy literature is assigned according to student abilities. Etudes and recital pieces largely from the Bassoon literature. Recital pieces are oriented towards easier compositions for this instrument.
