Historical layers of dances: Dance with no firm connection to musical accompaniment (Whirling dances, reels) and younger dnaces with firm connections to musical accompaniment (figure dances). Peculiarities in our country, solo men's dances (male jumps).
Basic types of dances: for each historical period a typical dance is chosen. Dances with unfixed links to musical accompaniment: Turning, Wiggling, Peasant - Dances with firm links to musical accompaniment: Černá vlnka, Zbujan, Čeladenský, Starodávný, Cófavá - Men's Jump: Ondraš, Odzemek, Verbuňk.
Movement preparations for individual areas: for each individual section movement preparations are made. Students adopt basic and special steps occuring in the given area. By comparing the executions of one step in various folklore areas the student track small differences which are the foundation for the color of our folk dance.
Dances of individual area: In classes students learn the most typical dances of individual areas: Silesia, Zbujan, Lašsko - Čeladenský, Pilky, Valašsko - Točená, Černá vlna, Starodávný; Haná - Trojke, Cófavá. Moravian Slovacko - Vrtěná, Verbuňk. We look for multiple variations in different collections, compare them and then enrich them with our ideas for adjustment and changes which are appropriate for the given dance.
