Summary and assessment of the development of modern dance on domestic stages. A survey of selected materials in relation to world dance events, current trends and movement theatre.

Lecture, media sample analyses, exercises, visits to relevant performances, active monitoring of the development of dance domestically and abroad.

Good mastery of dance technique, ability to teach dance phrases according to a recording, movement memory.

Summary and assessment of the development of modern dance on the domestic scene: survey of material covered.
Creations by world choreographers in the 1980s and 90s and their relationship to the Czech dance scene: R. Horta, M. Ek, W. Forsythe, N. Duato, O. Naharin, P. Bausch.

Video recordings from private archives: recordings from performances by higher institutes of learning ensembles, Dance Center Prague, National Theatre, Television documentaries about modern dance arts.

Condition for successfull completion of the course: study and presentation of a choreography example.
