Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The course aim is to develop student dance experience in classical dance. To introduce them to current trends in leading dance trainings. To increase flexibility, dance memory and physical condition.

Mode of study:

This course is linked to Classical Dance 1 training. This training is to enrich student dance experience, introduction to diverse phrases and combination of elements, development of dance alacrity, memory and flexibility, physical condition improvement.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Knowledge of classical dance technique at the conservatory level is required.

Course contents:

A la barre: exercises with the head at the bar for „warm-up“, combinations containing all basic elements of classic dance technique - battement tendu, battement tendu jeté, rond de jambe par terre, rond de jambe en l´air, battement fondu, battement frappés, petit battement, adagio-développé, relevé lent, arabesque poses, attitude, écarté, etc., grand battement.

Au millieu: exercises containing all instructed elements at the bar, primarily combinations: adagia, battement tendu and battement jeté, battement fondu, grand battement, phrases created also based on elements with multiple step and pirouettes

Allegro: jump variations divided into: petit allegro, medium allegro, grand allegro

Final training is comprised on adagio in a port de bras and with defined exercises which assist in relaxing after difficult physical performance.

Assessment methods and criteria:

Credit is awarded based on active participation - 90% attendance.
