Advanced Jazz harmony and its development from the 1950s to 1990s. Advanced arranging for a combo and small jazz ensembles. Development of Jazz compositions of the 1950s to 1990s. Study of important Jazz composers of that period and analysis of their compositions.

- Course contents:

A required course for Jazz music studies at HAMU. Two hours per week in the Winter semester of the 2nd study year of the Bachelor's study.
Instruction is concluded with credit upon completion of all assignments and two larger projects based on the lecture material.
Section 1: Advanced Jazz harmony
Section 2: Arranging for a Jazz combo and small Jazz ensembles of the 1950s-90s
Section 3: Study and analysis of Jazz compositions of the 1950s-90s and students' works in this music style.
