Learning outcomes of the course unit:

1) Introduce current theatre trends.

2) Develop abilities in critical review of a theatre piece.

3) Develop abilities to manage a dialogue and formulate critical opinions in discussion and in written form.

4) Based of the perception of the critical review process, to create in student the foundations of critical self-review of one's own work.

Mode of study:

Moderated discussions, discussions, analysis of theatre performances at a festival.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

1) Analytical and review skills.

2) Ability to manage a dialogue, be an active participant in discussion.

Course contents:

Festival reviews expanding student knowledge in individual studies and enables work in other studies. As well students are provided with an overview of current events in Czech and foreign theatre. Course structure includes these sections:

1) Individual critique reviews of festival performances.

2) Dscussions aiming to expanding and precise formulation of acquired knowledge.

3) Final synthesis of partial knowledge and critical reviews in the context at the entire festival.

Assessment methods and criteria:

Credit is awarded based on: attendance at the festival organized in the course, and activity in class.
