Learning outcomes of the course unit:

To introduce students to the content of the dramaturgical component of a theatre piece from a perspective of historical development, current trends, concept and character of theatre activity in non-traditional spaces.

Mode of study:

Aside from lectures, an analysed video-screening and examples of dramaturgy work.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

The student must have a general knowledge of basic theatre research, have a good bearing in the historical development of theatre and must be able to critically review a viewed project in non-traditional spaces.

Course contents:

The Winter semester covers:

1. A definition of dramaturgy.

2. A brief glimpse into the historical development of dramaturgy.

3. A definition of the three pillars of modern dramaturgy.

4. The theatre activity cultural space in the widest sense.

5. Title order system and teamwork.

The dramaturgy course content is individual consultations on projects. Interested parties will be able to register for announced consultation dates and consult on projects with subsequent analysis.

Assessment methods and criteria:

Credit is awarded based on the submission and defense of an essay in an interview which the instructor requires during the semester. This regards topice covered or executed etudes and tasks, attendance at colloquia, project concept.
