Learning outcomes of the course unit:

1. Acquaintance of the students with the basic concepts of the study and the particulars of the selected study program.

2. Forming and developing the students' creative potential.

3. Devleopment of skills in directing (space, Mis-en-scene, actor, performer, orchstration element, interaction, the rehearsal process, theory preparations, intervention).

4. Perception of teamwork (dramaturg, set-designer, musician, producer), acquiring skills in the guiding of actors and performers. Depersonalization of the function.

5. Developing the theory review skils of one's work in staging and project conditions.

Mode of study:

Lectures, classes, moderated discussions, creative exercises and rehearsals with acting students. Working with set-design students and external co-workers.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Creative, review and communication skills. Sense of teamwork. Sense of space. Organizational skills.

Course contents:

This study is based on the blending of practical and theory. Emphasis is placed on an original, creative approach to the field. In the first phase attention is focused on the basic concepts such as drama situations and acting behaviour in it, plot, motive, topic, situation composition and the time-space treatment (mis-en-scene). Then student attention is focused on acting and performer issues, time and rhythm in theatre, editing and assembly, improvisation and the original concept of theatre. The following is teamwork with the dramaturg, set-designer, music director, light-designer, choreographer, etc.. The entire bachelor's study moves towards directing and its review, and potentially preparations of the concept of the future master's study.

Assessment methods and criteria:

The course is graded based on the on-going assignment of creative tasks and student activity druing each semester (50%) and the student's semester creative work and its review (50%).
