Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Students are introduced to a wide scale of questions regarding issues of theatre production from a historical perspective and contemporary trends in theatre, influence of other arts, political and economic situations. To open up the spectrum of the most important aspets which need to be researched during study.

Classes and analysis of students' work.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

206UDS1 - Introductory Course must also be completed.

Course contents:

Theatre production is understood as one of the requirement of the rise of a stage work or specific theatre project, which must not be only understood as to the needs of other elements of the theatre organism but also a demonstration of an analysis of opportunities and threats by the external.

1. Brief history of the most important phases of a theatre production.

2. Basic theatre terminology.

3. The production team and the characteristics of its individual elements.

Assessment methods and criteria:

Credit is awarded based on:

1. class participation,

2. completion of the semester work,

3. presentation,

4. passing the final test.

During the semester independent reading and participation in class discussions (80%), which a condition for sitting the exam, is required. The exam is written. The overall grading is comprised of 20% for class participation, 20% for completion of semester work, 20% for the presentation of that work and 40% for the written test.
