Learning outcomes of the course unit:

1. Search for and find reasons for joining media tools with politics and in the entire period of development of a single type of media at home and around the world, particularly in Europe.

2. To introduce students to the most important legal norms, regarding the media and process of their genesis and creations.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

- general overview of the post-war history of Czechoslovakia and ath least a basic overview of history after October 1989,

- general knowledge of mass media issues,

- fundamental knowledge of law.

Course contents:

Media policy and legislation in democratic societies as one of the fundamental mainstays of implementing the constitutional human right to free speech. Media policy, media regulation - policy, technical or legal issues.
