- Learning outcomes of the course unit:

1. To introduce the most frequently used contract types in culture and arts management from the perspective of current legislation.
2. To introduce the work and content analysis knowledge of individual types of contracts.
3. To introduce the potential of functional use of contracts and other legal instruments for increasing legal security in relations between artists, producers and other persons in culture and arts managements.

Reading and analysing contracts. Interpretation and creation of contract provisions. Practical advice and instructions. Moderated discussions.

Students must, prior to registration, complete courses: 305PR1, 305PR2, 305PR3, 305PR4 Law 1-4, 206APR1 Copyright 1.
- Course contents:

1. Concluding contracts I. (Contract heading, identification of parties, contract structure, contract conclusion process).
2. Concluding contracts II (offer, acceptance, future agreement, innominate contracts, power of attorney, order and commissions contracts).
3. Liabilities I. (overview of basic priniciples of civil rights, theoretical limitations, application in practice, examples).
4. Liabilities II. (contract changes, ending a contract, secured liabilities, contractual penalties, pledges, compensation for damages).
5. Labor code I. (principles of the labor code, theoretical limitations and application in practice, characteristics of independent work, Blackmarket system, examples).
6. Labor code II (employment contract, work responsibilities agreement, employment agreement, summary).
7. Undertaking I (definition of the work, contract basic features, links to copyright - contracted pieces, examples from practice, analysis of sample contracts).
8. Undertaking II (analysis and discussion on particular cases in sample contracted work texts).
9. Licence I (limits and embedding of contracts, structure, licence extent, types of licences, examples).
10. Licence II. (analysis and discussion on particular cases of sample licence contract texts).
11. Leasing I. (limits and embedding of contracts, structure, essential features of leasing, types of leasing, use in practice, examples).
12. Leasing II. (analysis and discussion on particular examples of sample leasing contract texts).

During the semester independent preparations for classes and participation for at least 70% of classes.
An additional condition for successful completion of the course is the completion of the credit interview on general contract issues and exercises simulating the process of preparatoins or negotiating content and conditions for a particular contract type.
