1. To introduce students to the fundamentals of the field.

2. To introduce students to the development of Czech theatre critique.

3. Connect students to their own activities.

Mode of study:

Moderated discussion, discussion, text and sample analyses, staging screenings.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

No requirements.

Course contents:

1. History of criticism of the 19th and 20th centuries.

2. The contemporary situation in the industry.

3. Practice potential and issues.

Assessment methods and criteria:

Credit is awarded based on class participation, including presentation of the assigned work - on-goingly.

During the semester, individual reading, theatre attendance and participation in discussions is required.
