Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The student should be, upon completion of the series, able to have a bearing in the issues of modern theatre theory in its entire breadth. The should be able to write on this topic a study or essay and know individual topics and tendencies which arise in modern theatre theory, an not only write in detail and evaluate but to arrange it into a wider cultural and societal context.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Completion of the lecture series in the 1st year of Master's study and 2nd year of Elementary school.

Course contents:

Fourth Semester:

1. Theatre in the period of so called New Media and the influence of that media on theatre theory. Theatre as a part of the wider inter-media discourse (Petříček, Aumont, Jost, Delleuze).

2. Post-drama theatre (Lehmann).

3. Performity as an integral part of a theatre act (Schramm, Fischer-Lichte, Roselt).

4. Ontological elements of theatre acts (Etlik, Fischer, Lichte, Roubal).
