Doplnit náhled na styly a žánry filmové tvorby z hlediska nikoliv jen popisu a teorie dějin, ale s důrazem na jejich praktický význam jako komunikačního kanálu a možný smysl coby virtuálního média zprostředkujícího vzájemné ovlivňování světonázoru diváků a vypravěčů/tvůrců/producentů.

Mode of study:

Collection of current media material, discussions about it and student attempts at independent analysis. Lectures on potential perspectives on genre as human universals. Investigating practical examples.

Writing a proposal for a short genre film story for the Dept. of Directing.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

No requirements for registration.

Course contents:

Issues in contemporary genre works with particular focus new media.

Recommended or required reading:

Collection of current media materials, student creations.

Assessment methods and criteria:

Credit is awarded based on participation in group activities in class and minimum 75% attendance.
