Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Dramaturgy cooperation between the student and instructor on the literary basis of their film (particularly the graduation film) in the 4th and 5th years of study.

Mode of study:

Moderated and non-moderated discussion; analysis of subject matter, screenplays and shot material; screening of student films and of others.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

This course is linked to the Martin Mareček pedagogy workshop (1st year), where the students are introduced to the fundamentals of how to write a literary basis for a documentary film.

Course contents:

The content of the Winter semester is the documentary film subject-matter - a portrait, the results of the Documentary film Summer semester screenplay - a portrait. The literary basis is to be developed so the intentions may vary for the subject matter and screenplay (more concretely and detailed): What (film topic), How (form), Why (personal and societal motivations), With whom (film participants), Where (set), When (summer and day periods), structure (film framework) and sequence sample (how the film should appear).
