The module aim is to introduce students to research on the borders between psycholgy, psychiatry, aesthetics and cultural anthropology and to present neuro-aesthetic research which deals with emotions in the perception of art, the media image or erotics.
During the excursion the students will have the opportunity to actively or passively participate in experiments (EEG, magnetic resonance, eye-tracking, „lie-detector“), which will be supplemented by presentations of related topics.

An inter-disciplinary excursion broadening student awareness of scientific and technological knowledge on the borders between psychology, psychiatry, aesthetics and cultural anthropology.
Thurs. 11.5.2017 - National Institute of Mental Health.
Meet at 9:30 at the reception of NÚDZ in Klecany (Topolová 748, zastávka Klecany, U hřbitova bus lines 371 and 374 from Kobylisi).
Morning Session (9:30 - 14:30) - phobia research, what colors, shapes and animals provoke feelings of disgust and ow this is related to our cultural surroundings (eye-tracker, physiology, EEG).
Afternoon Session (14:30 - 17:00) - neuro aesthetics: how our brain reacts emotionally to art works, media images of suffering or how empathy is experienced towards refugees (magnetic resonance)
