Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Introduction to collaboration with a cameraman and costumer. Basic acquaintance with the work of a costumer.

The aim is for the stuent to become familiarized with everything costuming may contribute to an image and how to, ideally have an entire visual element - cameraman, architect, costumer collaboration.

Course contents:

The student gradually goes through the entire process of film costuming, a range of topics which the cameraman and the costumer in individual phases managed together.

This will cover:

1) Costumes in content and visually

2) Differences in approaches to costuming in various film genres

Particular emphasis is focused on working with costume color, shape and structure. This is all in a spatial relationship in the image.

Lectures will be supplemented with examples from selected films and their subsequent analysis from a costuming perspective.

Minimum 60% attendance in instruction, student active collaboration.
