Film consultant Mikael Opstrup (EDN, Denmark) with producer and dramaturgist Likkou Vehkalahtim (Rough Cut Service/ IV Films, Finland) share their personal perspective and experience with various aspects of pitching trailers. How a trailer/pilot is properly understood and shows the essence of the film, directing quality and successfully grab the public and decision-makers.

Dr. Arnau Gifreu Castelis, professor at Eram (University in Girona) and research collaborator for the Open Documentary Labe (MIT) presents strategies, platforms and plans for financing used on three of his tran-media projects: Cyborg Project (2015), Bugarach. How to Survive the Apocalypse (2017) and Negotiators (in production).

Lecture: Application of Customized Design Methodology in Film Narration

For linear narration artists (film, publicist, documentary film, etc.) the greatest challenge in working on an interactive narrative in interactive architecture, Dr. Sandra Gaudenzi from University Westminster and the Center for Digital Culture Research (UWE, VB) reveals her knowledge and proposes several of the best tricks in the narration of an interactive story.

Masterclass: Joe Bini - Personal Commentary on Documentary Film in the Eyes of the Editor

Celebrated documentary and feature film editor, Joe Bine will be devoted to the key role of the editor in documentary film. He will also focus on working with image and metaphor and their priority over the spoken word. He will also illustrate what steps and methods may help in maintaining dependent links in a film without the need to use anything but art film tools in examples of collaborations with directors like Werner Herzog, Nick Broomfield or Andrea Arnold.

Discussion Panel: How to proceed on the Austrian Market

Attendees learn abut possible co-production with Austrian independent producers, funds and television. How to get into cinemas and what novelties await in internet distribution. Also presented are successful projects as well as mistakes which resulted in low numbers. On the panel are: Peter Jaeger (Jaeger Creative), Florian Bruening (Mischief Films), Wolfgang Widerhofer (Geyerhalter Film), Ed Moschitz (ORF).

Lecture: Current Trends in 360* video and Virtual Reality

Lecturers Adam Široky and Jindřich Trapel from XLAB illustrate the historical and recent development of VR and lead you through the process of creating 360* content - from pressing "record' through development and editing - to presentation. They show current hardware and software potential and demonstrations of the entire workflow for 360* cameras and VR headsets.

Lecture: How to Introduce a Documentary Film - Innovative Distribution Strategies

Directors face, in introducing documentary films three barriers: they do not have enough experience, tools in the field and face encouter the case that documentary films have low attendance in traditional distribution. The aim of this lecture is to find a way to get over these barriers. Why to think about distribution at the beginning of film development, how to create an effective partnership for achieving that goal and how to get viewers. The lecturer Christopher Hird is an important figure in the field of independent documentary film in Great Britain.

Public Presentation: Doc Tank

Come and the best from the Doc Tank program. Five prepared trans-media projects will be presented to the public by a production-direction team and a small jury made up of prestigious international producers of interactive projects.
