Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Expansion of original approaches to television production as a screenwriter, director, producer. Creation of a natural audio-visual worlds in the form of uniform TV offerings.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

The requirement for participation is a completed short presentation (max. 2 standard pages) of a favorite quality TV series or older cult series. It is not limited to only production

Presentation content:

- short introduction to the development of the program (producer, creators, manner of distribution - cable TV, Streaming TV, Broadcast TV, etc.)

- what is exceptional, in your opinion, about the project (manner of narration, characters, stylization aesthetics...)

- a producer's view of the fan community around the given program (fan videos, fan meetings, fan fiction) and communication of the creators with those communities

- a short consideration of possible spin-offs including plots (computer games, series focused on one of the supporting characters, etc.) which would be, in your opinion, linked to the series

One's analysis of selected programs of one's choice or one's own idea which may be discussed in class with other students. If interested contat me prior to the beginning of the module at david.havas@nfa.cz.

During the second part of the module we may encounter actual TV station dramaturgy and discuss them with your ideas.
