Aim: to introduce students to basic legal terminology, the legal system and principles of the state arrangement of the Czech Republic (ex: including the justice dept.). The knowledge should serve as a basis for the understanding of later subjects in the area of law in the following semesters.

Přednášky, k některým tématům spíše charakteru seminářů s možnou bezprostřřední interakcí studentů, dílčí samostudium na základě průběžně rozdávaných materiálů k jednotlivým tématům.

- Course contents:

Individually selected topics introduce students to the basic principle of function and elements of the Czech legal code, and its connection with international and European law. This course covers classic legal theory concepts/legal norms, sources of law, legal relationships, subjective law, subject law, application of law, primary liability etc, so the students have a basis for further studies in selective legal branches.
