Learning outcomes of the course unit:

This module is to widen student knowledge in pre-print preparations for school equipment plotter HP Z3200ps and ink-jet printer Epson.

This module is scheduled for Photography Dept. students.

Course contents:

This module is focused on expanding students knowledge in the area of prepress preparations for the available devices - inkjet plotter HP Z3200ps and EPSON Stylus Pro 4900. We will focus on the particulars of scanning various materials - negative films in both black&white and color as well as color-reversal film of the Hasselblad Flextight X5 scanner and Nikon Coolscan 9000 scanner. The second part of the workshop will then focus on an introduction to color profiles and the correct process of color management workflow during editing and printing on the inkjet printer EPSON Stylus Pro 4900. We will go through guidelines for using photographic materials with existing color-profiles as well as profiling own materials. In the end we will complete the process by color-correct printing from both Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat Professional .
