Learning outcomes of the course unit:

To introduce the students to the particulars of camera use in animated film in the sense of a creato and technician.

The student should be able after the course to professionaly communicate with workers in post-production, a skill which will be used in future creations.

As well the lectures should lead the student to an improved understanding of working with the cameraman in the future. This will allow the student to better orient themself in the potential and limitations in creating an image in animation.

Mode of study:

Instruction is through lectures with practical examples of the technology and equipment in the Animation People animated film studio.

As well the students will observe most of a filming underway or a scene will be prepared for them in which they will be presented filming potential and manners.

Students will be presented will an animation creations from the world over considering various filming techniques.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Fundamental knowledge from the „Film technology“ course.

Fundamental knowledge about recording animated films.

Course contents:

1/ Základní fyzikální pojmy ve filmu a opakování některých prvků z předmětu „Filmová technika“

2 /Technologie různých typů a možností snímaní animovaného filmu s důrazem na „ruční animaci“

3/ Technologický proces realizace a postprodukce animovaného filmu a možnosti zásahu do obrazu během a po natáčení díla.

4/ Osvětlení animovaných scén a základy souvislosti mezi scénografií a „kamerou“ v animovaném díle.

5/ Historické a současné technologie, využití tradičních postupů a možnosti v současné digitální technologii.

6/ Základy digitálního snímání s preferencí optického zobrazování.

7/ Filmové pomůcky a praktické zkušenosti z natáčení realizovaných animovaných děl
