- Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Aesthetics is the base of artistic communication and expression.
Students must be capable to understand the system of the arts and its basic principles and features. They are required to understand the sense of beauty through Aesthetics and the criteria to evaluate artistic forms and artistic developments, currents, movements and trends as well as mange the basic features of semiotics and semiology. They must altogether be familiar with forms of artistic expression in any field, visual, literary, music, as well as understand completely concepts like form, meaning, symbol, structure, norm and else. Basic introduction to De Saussure’s essays, linguistic, semiotics and semiology. Filmmakers are artists and aesthetics is the base of their work. Any filmmaker must be aware of its position in the world and his research into art; any filmmaker must know origins of art expression, of the discipline he is involved and the historical development of art as a phenomenon, a process, a technique (or a system of techniques) as well as a fundamental social element of life.

Course is divided into three parts: aesthetics of visual arts, aesthetics and semiology of film and theory of beauty and system of the arts.
