Debut in International Co-production: Case Study Koudelka

The aim of the module is the screening of Gilad Baram‘ s film, ‚Koudelka Shooting the Holy Land‘, and the ensuing discussion with Baram, the director, and Radim Prochazka, the producer. Apart from the issue of the content we will also stress the production side of the project which could well be considered as one of the model ways for students to focus on the development of film material in the context of an international documentary co-production project.

A unique insight into the creative genius of Czech photographer Josef Koudelka. Director Baram follows Koudelka on his journey through Israel and Palestine as he searches for the elusive moment in which a photograph emerges. Director Gilad Baram, Koudelka’s assistant at the time, follows him on his journey through the Holy Land from one enigmatic and visually spectacular location to another.
