Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The purpose is to produce a documentary in various lengths based on the yearly activities mainly at FAMU International.

Managed by the students, filmed, directed and edited by students.

That could provide promotional material for the school and a film to circulate on festival and else.

Mode of study:

Two-semester long practical shooting and editing (incl. full postproduction) module.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Shooting experience.

Course contents:

Students involved will experience problems of shooting, narration, editing and production. The resulting material will be edited into one film of one hour and one longer to be sent to festivals. Material will be managed possibly into different other film products.

Methodology

Possibly forming a shooting and production team, that will cover most activities during the year, coordination will be by the head of department, editing manager will be an assigned collaborator of FAMU International.

Assessment methods and criteria:

Assessments

Participation to production will give right to credits, up to a maximum of 3 per semester.

Students will be mentioned in the credits according to their effort.

Film will be commercial property of FAMU International

Students will be required to manage their school duties as a priority in any case, the participation to this module/laboratory will not be excuse or reason to miss classes, workshops, meeting with trainers already defined.
