Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Short film screenplay training.

Mode of study:

Classic workshop, work with the student and the text, which is submitted by student. If the instructors considers it necessary or appropriate, lecture of the theory may be included. An integral part of the educational process is the debate.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Basic knowledge of structure of a story and building a 3D figure are advantageous but not requirements.

Course contents:

In the first semester in regular meetings of students with the instructor the student task is to adopt the inherent laws of the short film screenplay. The footage shouldn't exceed 7 minutes and the dialogues should be at a minimum.

Pavel Jech: Short film

Any book from following authors: Syd Field, Lew Hunter (zejména Screenwriting), Richard Walter, Richard Krevolin (Screenwriting from the soul), Michal Hauge

Assessment methods and criteria:

Students in the first semester complete a short film, cca. 7 minutes long with a minimum of dialog. Regular participation in the classes is necessary.
