Learning outcomes of the course unit:

The course aim is to acquaint students with topics of contemporary arts with an emphasis on new media through a series of lectures by invited instructors, theoreticians and artists. The lecture series takes place withing the OpenEye guest instructor project. Lectures are held together with the Dept. of Photography and Center for Audiovisual Studies and is translated into English.

Course contents:

Lecture and discussion, with invited guests, on selected topics in theory, history and practice in contemporary arts with an emphasis on new media. The lecture series takes place within the OpenEye guest instructor program.

none

Assessment methods and criteria:

At the close of the semester the student submits an essay of at least two standard pages (3600) characters reviewing the lecture of any one of the guest speakers. This is to be an analysis of the lecture and a formulation of one's viewpoint and an outline of the stance of the lecture.
