Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Ability to communicate in complex situations.

Ability to lead discussions on abstract topics.

Study vocabulary.

Mode of study:

Reading and text analysis, listening, presentation and practice of grammar and lexical structures. moderated discussions, independent presentations.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Requirement for registration is a knowledge level corresponding to the lower course level (B11,B12).

Course contents:

Development of all language skills:

Speaking: formulating and defending one's opinion, evaluating arguments, proposing solutions, expressing feelings

Writing a CV and coverletter

Understanding standard spoken English, news, films.

Reading and comprehension in the study area, articles from newspapers and magazines

Complex grammar: conditional sentences, modal verbs in the past, indirect speech, verbal phrases, articles.

Word forms, linking phrases, study area terminology

Topics: school, work, interpersonal relationships, society.
