Readings and writings analysis, listenings, presentation and practice of lexis and grammar structures, moderated dialogues, discussions, independent presentations.

A requirement for the course is language knowledge corresponding to lower level course.
- Course contents:

Topics: hitchhiking, shopping, The French and Czechs, theatre, music, film, graphic arts and accompanying study fields.
Grammar: subjunctive of additional irregular verbs and after conjunctions, past subjunctive, present participle, gerunds, past simple, passive voice, pronouns: lequel, autre, tense order, question pronoun „dont“.
Speaking: expressing feelings, forming and defending opinions, arguments, proposing solutions.
Understanding standard speech, news and film.
CV writing and cover-letter.
The topics and grammar correspond to lessons 29-32 of the coursebook.

- Assessment methods and criteria:

This course is concluded with an exam. The requirements to sit the exam are:
- class participation
- completion of assignments
The exam is comprised of two parts, written and oral.
Written: the exam includes reading comprehension, listening, grammar and vocabulary sections.
The oral part includes translation, analysis, possible reproduction of a professional writing of about 10 pages which the student prepares prior after consultation with the instructor. There is then a conversation about the student project topic.

If the student because of extenuating circumstances is not able to attend the course (internship, competition, serious health issues), the student is to contact the instructor and acquire study materials and arrange a consultation. Otherwise, the student is no eligible for credit.
Only CJP exams from the previous 3 years are recognized. Exams from other schools or other certificates do not release the students from exam requirements.
