Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Recognition of newer theory works related to the analysis of music works and music compositions.

Mode of study:

Lectures and analyses of presented works. Student independent study directed by instructor.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Regular participation in lessons and active participation in discussions. Study of assigned study literature for the final test.

Course contents:

Scales, harmony, referential collections.

Pitch classes and intervals.

Tone groups and segmentation.

Unordered tone groups and operations on them.

Analysis of tone groups.

Series / Ordered tone groups and operations on them.

Rhythm and melodic contour.

Just intonation - theory, systems.
