Learning outcomes of the course unit:

To be able to select an appropriate prose text with good drama potential and based on it to create a script which will respect the basic literary context of the original text and also enhance its dramatic and theatrical qualities. This starts with a knowledge of the group for which the script is indentended (age, composition, experience, interests), and one's abilities and potential which is reflected in the selection of the manner of transformation of the basis and measure of the writer's share in the final form of the script.

Mode of study:

Readings, moderated discussions, analyses of literary bases and other texts. Creative writing.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Orientation in theory literature issues and in the fundamentals of dramaturgy. Ability to discern the dramatic quality of a text and work with it with an idea of possible staging. Active interest in theatre production and the dramaturgy of children and youth ensembles and in some cases one's own experience in their leadership.

Course contents:

Original - Dramatization course introduces the basic potential of transforming prose into a drama base on one's experience in creating a script.

During the semester independent readings and participation in class discussions are required, particularly taking part in the consultation of colleagues' work.
