- Learning outcomes of the course unit:

To create a film of sufficient quality determined by the intentions of the student - their personal understanding of the goals which they wish to achieve.
- Mode of study:

The lead of the Implementation workshop instructs how to write the text basis for a film. The students cover the extensive focus and future application of the film. They consult on necessary technical requirements for the film implementation and use of film equipment - camera and sound equipment.
- Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Knowledge of film Czech and world film culture (basic knowledge of graphic, music, theatre and literary arts culture). Ability to analyse and review. Creativity.
- Course contents:

Third year bachelor's study exercise, a documentary film which is to demonstrate that the student is able to in an artistic form discuss and important social topic. Recommended length: 20-40 min.
The majority will be and electronic recording (Betacam Digital - DV cam, DV cam - VHS and DVD, DV cam - S-VHS with TC). If the student wishes to use 16mm film that option will be provided.
Date and manner of grading: Summer semester to be submitted by the 5th of Sept. to the Documentary Dept.
Script deadline date: End of the Winter semester (January)
Implementation deadline: Feb.- May
Recording technology:16mm (or Betacam Digital), contact sound
Pure footage: 20-40 min.
Number of shooting days: 15 days (of which 10 with a sound camera)
Material: 1098m 16mm neg. color, daily work (or 5x Betacam Digital 64 cassette)
Sound material: mg 16mm for transfer mix 220m: 3x DAT 65; 1x S-VHS and VHS; 1x CD-R
Image technology: Sound camera, 10 days (AATON LTR, ECLAIR ACL, ECLAIR NPR), 16mm silent camera, 5 days (or 15 days portalble Betacam Digital equipment.)
Sound technology: DAT recorder FOSTEX PD-4, 15 days, or NAGRA IV
Editing: 40 frequency AVID, including a log for sound post-production
Sound Post-production: recording and transfer of dialog, music or background or recording of commentary, 2 frequencies; preparation and setting of the mixing tracks - digital sound editing, 3 frequencies; digital mixing table, 2 frequencies; transfer of mix to master.
Transfer: 16mm negative or Betacam Digital - DV cam, DV cam - VHS and DVD, DV cam - S-VHS with TC
Archiving: (16mm two band or also KK - NFA), DV cam - Studio FAMU, VHS and DVD - Documentary Dept. Video Library.

Credit is awarded based on the film presented by the student to the Documentary Dept. commission and participation in the Implementation Workshop.
