Learning outcomes of the course unit:

To better see the structure and the dramaturgy of a piece. working with actors, orchestral instruments and set design in practice. Thanks to meetings with eminent artists, an understanding of the necessity of working with established intentions. In this way students can shift within and consider their own original approach.

The host workshop is guided by the artistic director of the National Theatre Opera and co-founder and conductor of the contemporary music ensemble, Agon Orchestra, Petr Kofroň (more at http://www.narodni-divadlo.cz/cs/umelec/petr-kofron and http://www.petrkofron.com/ )

Part of the course is commented attendances at National Theatre Opera rehearsals for Sternenhoch and Werther, directed by Petr Kofroň.

Mode of study:

Classes and rehearsal attendances at the National Theatre according to the performance preparations.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Participation in documentary shooting.

Course contents:

Students are acquainted comprehensively with the process of preparing and opera staging, from preparing all materials (dramaturgy, scores), through rehearsals with singes (coaching, ensemble), through orchestra rehearsals, to arranging rehearsals, reheasals with the orchestra on stage to the dress rehearsal week. As well, extra stage rehearsals, meaning setting, tehcnical, lighting, piano dress - blocking on stage with the set.
