Guest Workshop lead by the director and screenwriter of documentary and feature film, Robert Sedláček (*1973).

iDNES.cz 15.8.2017: "Director Robert Sedláček has begun shooting the film Jan Palach. The screenplay was written by Eva Kantůrková, the title role played by Viktor Zavadil. On Saturday will be created the scenes from the 21st of August, 1968 when the hero meets up with occupation forces. Before the Rudolfinem were trams and on Manes Bridge, tanks. Other roles in the feature-length projects will be played by Zuzana Bydžovská as Palach's mother, Denisa Barešová, his first love, Michal Balcar as Palach's brother and Jan Vondráček as the student's professor.

The majority of the shooting will take place in November and December mostly in Prague but also in Milovice which was where the brigade camp was, taking the place of Kazachstan, and briefly in the Austrian area of the Danube which will be a French vineyard or the Pardubice square which will represent Wenceslas Square. According to the filmmakers, the film plays out the last months of Jan Palach's life based on available facts and thoughts that went through his mind at the time. He told no one of his plan. He got a snack from his mother, he joked around with his roommate and, before leaving for the city center, had a shower.

"The most important thing in this story is beyond the words. In silence, in moments when the characters fall silent, says the director of the film which is a collaboration with Cineart and Czech Television.

The film ends with a figure running in flames towards the Saint Wenceslas sculpture. The premiere is planned for 21. August. 2018.
