The course aim is to expand knowledge and practical skills which the students acquired in the introduction to the editing composition study and in fulfilling Winter semester practices and which will be need in the Summer semester of the first year for the implementation of one's Documentary Dept. required exercises.

Media recording example analysis, text analyses. Additional independent editing of audio-visual material with consultations.
- Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Completion of „Introduction and Practice at the Editing Dept.“ Knowledge of "Anthology of Texts for Introduction, FAMU 2006.
- Course contents:
-
1) Introduction to the Editing Department structure and study and other FAMU subjects related to Editing.
2) Dramaturgical and Symantic analyses.
Topic, content, figures, film line.
Scan composition. Vertical assembly.
Film graphic cinematization potential.
3) Introduction to FinalCut and Avid editing software.
4) Samples of three types of Technical screenplays, daily reports over the negative and sound daily reports. Tags for downloading the negative and EDL for ON-line. The post-production process - links to individual steps in the creation of a work.
5) Afternoon tasks - analyses of expression tools,
The aimless stroll - exhausting figures through film language.
The dead man - the character of a scene after shooting, inter-shooting assembly, examples of developing a symbol in a drama work. Voluntary task in rewriting the screenplay of a sequence in a favorite film.

6-8) Processing the assigned exercise - exercise consultations - „Doctors“
Comparison of sound of individual submitted versions.
Discussions over the structure of the exercise, measure of skills descriptions of the place and exposure position. Topic.
Editing connections, ability to read material, Including detail into the composition.
