- Name of lecturer(s):
- Jiří MYSLÍK, Josef PECÁK
- Learning outcomes of the course unit:
-
The aim of the exercise a practical introduction to working with a densitometer, measuring density of B/W material, graphic treatments of the fundamental tasks. TCH FOT: The aim of the exercise is a practical confirmation of the reproduction potential of the negative-positive process.
- Mode of study:
-
Based on given sensitometric tests, students graphically represent reproduction chararacteristics and perform the presented adjustments to the copy process.
- Prerequisites and co-requisites:
-
Students review attendant material from „Photography Theory Basics“ prior to the exercises.
- Course contents:
-
1/ Students measure 3 wedges of negative materials developed at different periods, present the characteristic error, determine the angle and present the error related angle of the developing period.
2/ Student measure a wedge of positive material, present the negative error according to point 1/ positive error according to point 2/ and assemble copy error of a given negative on a given positive such that the 0.1 value over the reel in each negative is copied at a density of 2.0 in positive.
3/ Students select a negative wedge whose gamma is closest to a o.65 value creates a copy according to point 2/ and aside from this assembles the copy error, copied in double and half copy exposure.
Exercise concept: Student study the appropriate section of the literature, ex. „Introduction to Photography techniques“ published ČT 1970 pages 94-96/. Measurements are performed in pairs and processed measurement values done individually.
Technical execution: The instructor sets up the equipment and distributes wedges, assigns the properly completed protocols and sensitography. The exercise times are set by the instructor.
TCH FOT:
1. section: Exponometry of given scene types.
2. section: Brightness analysis, primary reality in relation to the film material.
