Subject guarantor:
Josef PECÁK
Name of lecturer(s):
Josef PECÁK
Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Practical exams over exponometric procedures.

Mode of study:

Active participation in photometric measurements, completion of assignments and completion of written reports.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Intended for bachelor study students.

Course contents:

Brightness Measurement:

1/ Determining the extent of brightness with a given testing slate through the use of a luminance meter with a view to the darkest field and registering onto the slate the relative values of the other fields.

2/ Using a luminance meter for creating the relative luminance of two grey plates VÚZORT for attaining the brightness extent 1:40 and 1:100. Using a illumination meter to measure the resultant light ratio.

3/ Establishing material exposure with 21 DIN sensitivity and based on luminance measurements, gauging the first white field on the VÚZORT slate when lighting at 1280lx, and the second at 640lx, the third at 320lx and the black field at 160lx.

4/ On a given surface and filter determine using a luminance meter, index of reflaction resp. transmition.

5/ Gauging on a densitometer a given negative wedge-stock and measuring a recorded grey slate. Considering that the given material has a sensitivity given by the producer in DIN, determine using measurement values the correct practical sensitivity.

6/ On the process graph, mark the position of individual fields of the grey slate and establish their reflective value.

Illumination meter measurements:

1/ Calculate and mark onto Plate 1 for a given light source the distance which the prescribed light value attains.

2/ With a freely selected light source of greater than 1kW, determine using a illumination meter its luminous intensity, calculate its distance which the light attains with the prescribed value and enter it onto the slate. Check the calculations with experimental measurements and enter them on the slate.

3/ Supply the graphic relationships of the lighting measurement values for the values calculated from a characteristic gradient. Determine, for a given photoelectric device recalculation agents of the measurement values for the true lighting intensity.

4/ Determine the exposure illumination for the recording condition on ???DIN, f-stop 2.8 and 25fps frequency.

5/ For 3 given filters determine using an illumination meter their factors and optical density - /slate 3/.

6/ For given light and illumination meters check the calibration constant. Enter the result to Slate 4.

7/ Determine using a light meter the correct exposure of a field with reflective index 0.36 on a material with 21 DIN sensitivity. Enter onto Slate 5 the measurement values and corrected exposure values.
