The aim of the course is to provide students with an overview of the basic aspects of the television industry from the producer's perspective and a consideration of stations in the creation of a program and how this meshes with the works of the independent producer.
Students gain an overview of the milestones in the history of television broadcast as an overview of the most significant television producers domestic and abroad. Students learn to judge principles in the viewing and success of television stations and TV programs. Lectures will also cover TV genres with and emphasis on drama.
The classes are to motivate students for production considerations for TV creations, from the perspective of a producer - creative formats or as a producer who decides on the adaptions of existing formats.
- Mode of study:

Discussions over assigned professional readings, moderated discussions on topics given by the instructor, discussion with course guests. Presentation of instructor experience. Creativity linked to lectures.
- Prerequisites and co-requisites:

A general bearing of the contemporary television environment in the Czech Republic and knowledge from previous study is advantageous. An appropriate basic knowledge of English - study texts are often in that language. No knowledge requirements for this course.

8. Television and genres: Sitcom
9. Television and genres: Adaptations and formats
10. Television and genres: Reality TV
11. Television and genres: Quiz shows
12. Television and genres: minor genres (news, reports, sport, music, children's shows).
