The aim of this subject is to introduce the students with the practical solutions of photography of specific tasks such as photography of specific surfaces and objects made of glass, metal, pottery and surface of human body. The students will also learn how to use technical equipment of the Department of Photography, including the ways how to compare images processed by the analogue and digital technologies.

Students will be acquainted with possible solution of realizations particular topics through the analysis of examples recorded on different medias in comparison with practical examples of model situations realized during the tutorial.

There are no prerequisites or co-requisites needed for enrollment to this course.
- Course contents:
-
1. Acquaintance with working procedures in the use of Canon 6D and Mamiya 465 cameras with digital backs, and the potential for use, particularly, in comparing the results from analog and digital photography.
Practical section: the sebsequent exercises will always be a simultaneous comparison of the two technologies and the analog shots processed on baryta paper, digital photos (always on an appropriate topic) printed on the school's Epson printer. Surface agreed upon.
2. Technical basis for photographing metal objects, to be submitted:
1 B/W photo 30x40cm
3. Technical basis for photographing glass, possible lighting of the material applied, to be submitted:
1 B/W photo of glass 30x40cm with a light background with a black continual circumference line, or possible photograph of ground glass. It is appropriate to use all manner of processing which digital photography offers for achieving the optimal presentation of the glass.
4. Photogram as a first-year exercise and Studio of classical photography, which will take place in Beroun on a track of meter roll. Part of the exercise is extensive preparations in the form of a test of individual materials and various chemical technology processing.
5. Completing one photographic still-life, completed according to the basis of the selected artist and in either color or B/W photos or painting. This is photography which attempts to capture the character of the shot, including lighting, atmosphere, color and use of props which may be substitute objects, which are not entirely the same but maintain the original character.
To be submitted: 1 photo of dimensions according to the basis, the longer side 40cm/or a color print/produced by an analog or digital camera, color or B/W according to the selected basis.

c/ 1 - A3 print from a digital shot of glass on a black background
d/ collection of photos for a photogram
e/ 1 photo dimensions based on a multiple pages of 40cm/or color print / produced by an analog or digital camera, color or black and white according to the selected basis.
