Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Students will make their own album and starch decorated paper. They will also learn making of one of the many types of photo albums, the album inspired by Japanese binding.

Mode of study:

This course is systems of workshop.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

Students are required to be familiar with various materials and aesthetics.

Course contents:

This course is focused on acquainting with photo albums, material characteristics, decorating techniques, and types of joining of individual sheets. Students will be acquainted with the production of Swiss starch paper, design “trees” by Marianne Moll. On the end of the course, they will make a model album inspired by Japanese binding using their own design, which will fully correspond with the inserted photos.

Assessment methods and criteria:

The completion of the assigned work, which is the creation of the author's album, is conditional on obtaining the credit. The maximum submission date is 8 December 2017.
