The aim is to introduce students to the historical development of European music and basic music theory.

Presentation of factual data for discussing the topic, listening to and analysis of music and possibly, AV examples. Discussions.

General cultural overview at the level required for acceptance with an emphasis on the area of music.
- Course contents:

The purpose of the course is to introduce students to the history of European music and the basics of music theory. The lecturers are accompanied by music samples of the individual music styles discussed. Students should be able to orient themselves in elementary music terminology, identify the music periods in which individual compositions originated, understand the techniques of composition and musical forms.
