Geture and Mime acting
The aim of instruction is to find and be aware of gestures and its particular expressive potential. This covers theory and practice with an emphasis on the the attitude of the actor and the ability extract from reality expressive signals and present themin simple, powerful forms.
- Mode of study:

Intensive instruction through a workshop practical taking place at the UVS Poněšice. Part of instruction is physical exercises. Close-fitting exercise attire is necessary, without print in neutral colors (grey, black, brown).
This course takes place in the Summer semester 2017/2018 during April 2018

This course provides a basic glimpse into acting from an anthropological point of view. No special preparations are required.
The capacity for this module is 15 students.
- Course contents:

Gestural and mime acting are part of pantomime and animated film.
Curriculum:
Parts of the actor's body and their use.
Creating a pose.
Extracting from observations in reality.
Poise as the basis for the creation of a character and poise as the expression of emotion. Theory of the genesis of gesture and its function.
Human non-verbal communication, its inherent laws, why body language is the basic expression skill of man.
Though exercises students will come closer to and understand expression in movement from the acting viewpoint. Creating movement in time and space. Study of characters, their main signals, body build, gesture and mimicry. Classification of poise and gestures of characters, emotions and their use in playing out a situation.
Originality in acting.
Credit conditions: ex: Cr/3 - for 100%

Active approach to physical exercise which leads to an undersanding of the basic relations of the human body.
Movement expression is a part of every human being because movement is the first sign of life. Everyone can be an actor who wants to. To understand the function of gesture and the mutual relations of individual parts of the human body is an adventure based on the execution of body exercises. The pantomime principle of acting (embodiment) is the basis for any type of acting expression. A maximum of 15 seats are available for the module.

Every human being is capable of expressive movement, because movment is one of the first manifestations of life. An actor can become anyone desired. Understanding the function of a gesture and the mutual relations of individual parts of the human body is a process founded on the performance of body exercise systems. The pantomime principle of acting (embodiement) is the principle basis for any acting expression.
Group maximum is 15.
