Course contents:

The conference takes place as a part of the 21st International Festival of Documentary Film (MFDF) Ji.hlava (24th - 29th Oct. 2017) and the main topics are potential distribution, presentation and preservation of experimental film and various manner of their availability to curators and the public.

Distributor, festival and gallery representatives will be presented wih Czech expreimentatil films (Exprmntl.cz competition) and there will also be a special program of experimental films from the territory of the former Yugoslavia in the communist era. MFDF Ji.hlava has become the primary platform for systematic presentation of Czech experimental film (predominantly those with references to reality and documentary features) and as well has, for a while, been devoted to the cinematography of Eastern Europe; its ambtion is to help in the international distribution of Eastern European and Czech pieces and enable collaboration with experience foreign distributors, galleries and festivals.

Participation and paper for 1-2 page analysis in Czech on an aspect of Fascinations panels. To be submitted to Eric Rosenzveig by 15.11.2017

How do professional journals from the field of film and visual arts and experimental film build on the discovery strategies of festivals and galleries (or distributors)?

Visegrad Accelerator:

360° documentary film and interactive appplication which work with reality in virtual reality quickly developing audio-visual areas. Education applications and graphic arts pieces also are part of this area. How to get them to the audience and what kind of audience do they address? What distribution channels do they use? Are classical distributors and galleries interested? What are the particulars and forms of experimentation with audio-visual forms for VR in Central European countries? We will discuss this with artists or representatives of companies producing content or VR in V4 countries.
