Students are also expected to prepare for rehearsal outside of class, by familiarizing themselves with the scene to be rehearsed, formulating clear objectives for the rehearsal, and reading analyses and specifics about rehearsal techniques in the reading material distributed for the course. Students will always meet in room 2 at 18.10 to share plans for rehearsals, then go to separate rooms when actors arrive in order to work the scenes in an atmosphere of concentration. Directing students return to room 2 following rehearsals to get feedback and complete reflection on the process.

Hodnoticí metody a kritéria

Attendance, written preparations/rehearsal plans, written reflections following rehearsals.

Course is offered on an exam basis. At end of course, an exam will be given to students in the form of a take-home with questions related to scene analysis, rehearsal techniques and the readings for the course.

For credit, students must have 80% attendance.

It is necessary to keep up with readings and preparations for each session with the actors.

It is necessary to turn in all rehearsal plans and reflections (there will be five of each in total).

Students are expected to come to every class. One excused absence would be allowed if the instructor is informed in advance and the excuse is valid (i.e., grave illness).

Note that each session is four academic blocks, so missing two sessions would make it impossible to achieve the 80% of attendance necessary to pass the course.

Poznámka

Students need to rehearse outside class time on scenes with actors from DAMU.
