Field of study characterization
The Bachelor?s programme in the field of Audio-Visual Studies is focused on the development of talent and the acquisition of knowledge in the practical and theoretical aspects of audiovision, with emphasis on theoretical reflection and creative intermediality. Here, the medium is not meant as merely the carrier of an image or sound and the relevant technologies, but rather as the system of procedures and approaches through which artistic disciplines articulate their messages and missions. The programme thus consists of a synthesis of audio-visual conceptual work, new media and theoretical reflection. In the theoretical and historical part of the programme, students are familiarised with the history and present of audio-visual media and of theoretical considerations about them. A substantive component of the programme in Audio-Visual Studies is practical creative activity. Students are led to creative procedures and work in practice with the relevant technical means that presently influence the production, dissemination and reception of an audio-visual work (classic cinematography, video, computer projects, interactive audiovision on the internet, digital television, and others).
